Can you post the output of 

    $ readelf -d /usr/local/bin/php
    $ ldd /usr/local/bin/php

> # gdb /usr/local/bin/php php.core

> Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

> Loaded symbols for /usr/local/lib/libssl.so.11

Seems to be using OpenSSL from ports, and not from base.

Is this the entire stack trace?  Can you post the output of
the gdb "bt" (a.k.a. "where") command?
