This concerns ANSI C Crypto Library ?

I would have to edit libcrypt, when I want to change some sizes for libcrypto.a and for libcrypto.so ?

Then compile it and merge it into Linux installation ?

The files in the crypto directory are compiled to build the libraries.
 
I think you will find some intro material on building C software useful. This is probably not a good place to find that info.
