letter 's' in s_client in openssl

The man page starts with:

S_CLIENT(1SSL)                OpenSSL                     S_CLIENT(1SSL)

NAME
        s_client - SSL/TLS client program

So, I'd guess it stands for "SSL". What else? ;-)
