In fact I ported the 5.6p1 patch to 6.6p1 on OSX 10.9.2 Maverics
the other day. It needed a few changes, but AFAIK it now works
just fine.
Were SCTP support adopted as part of the upstream, the code
might remain in shape far better. The separate patches tend to
end up out of sync with the latest versions in the common code
base when the code evolves from release to release.
