I see you're working on this ? a new clone of your tree, so I could look
at the final results, was confusing different to the version I was
already looking at :)

I've pulled in a bunch of the early commits, with a few modifications,
and pushed it out to my git tree. I don't think I've touched anything
that you've made changes to, or that'll be difficult to rebase on top
of.

I *haven't* pulled in the Android-MIPS fix yet because I'd like that to
contain a reference to the upstream Android NDK bug.
