Trying to compile nntpcache-1.0.7.1 on a 500mhz Alpha (EB164) running RedHat Linux 5.0. I can compile successfully on an Intel-based Linux installation but not on the Alpha. Results of 'make' and 'configure' appended below. Any help or suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance. particulars: # uname -a Linux 2.0.32 #1 Fri Dec 5 14:51:59 EST 1997 alpha unknown # gcc -v Reading specs from /usr/lib/gcc-lib/alpha-redhat-linux/2.7.2.3/specs gcc version 2.7.2.3 # make returns: (read v < VERSION; echo '#define' VERSION \"$v\" > version.h) /bin/sh genextern.sh *.c > extern.h cd libproff && make make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/local/src/nntpcache-1.0.7.1/libproff' gcc -g -O2 -Wall -pipe -I. -I.. -c setproctitle.c -o setproctitle.o setproctitle.c:284: `NULL' undeclared here (not in a function) setproctitle.c:285: `NULL' undeclared here (not in a function) setproctitle.c: In function `initsetproctitle': setproctitle.c:297: `NULL' undeclared (first use this function) setproctitle.c:297: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once setproctitle.c:297: for each function it appears in.) setproctitle.c:310: warning: type mismatch in implicit declaration for built-in fu nction `strlen' setproctitle.c: In function `setproctitle': setproctitle.c:335: warning: type mismatch in implicit declaration for built-in fu nction `strcpy' setproctitle.c:340: warning: implicit declaration of function `vsnprintf' setproctitle.c:382: `NULL' undeclared (first use this function) make[1]: *** [setproctitle.o] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/nntpcache-1.0.7.1/libproff' make: *** [libproff/libproff.a] Error 2 # ./config returns: creating cache ./config.cache checking host system type... alpha-unknown-linux checking target system type... alpha-unknown-linux checking build system type... alpha-unknown-linux checking for gcc... gcc checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) works... yes checking whether the C compiler (gcc ) is a cross-compiler... no checking whether we are using GNU C... yes checking whether gcc accepts -g... yes checking how to run the C preprocessor... gcc -E checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking for ranlib... ranlib checking for inline... inline checking for gcc no-strength-reduce bug... no checking if the compiler understands -Wall... yes checking if the compiler understands -pipe... yes checking for dirent.h that defines DIR... yes checking for opendir in -ldir... no checking for ANSI C header files... yes checking for sys/wait.h that is POSIX.1 compatible... yes checking for fcntl.h... yes checking for sys/file.h... yes checking for sys/ioctl.h... yes checking for sys/time.h... yes checking for utime.h... yes checking for sys/param.h... yes checking for sys/mount.h... yes checking for sys/vfs.h... yes checking for sys/statvfs.h... no checking for syslog.h... yes checking for unistd.h... yes checking for stdarg.h... yes checking for stddef.h... yes checking for sys/select.h... yes checking for limits.h... yes checking for libutil.h... no checking for sys/param.h...
