i archive a newsgroup locally and would like to offer access via a readonly news server. nntpcache looks like it might do the trick for the least amount of effort. questions: how can i disable expiration? i have all of the old articles saved, if i copy them into the cache dir under the appropriate tree, with that be enough to make them appear? or do i need to update an overview file? since the cache will have many additional articles that the real newserver does not, will this present a problem? i would like to only allow access to the one specific group, however when i placed "* group.name read" in the access file, i could not connect to the server (telent localhost 119). if i placed "* * read" in the access file, i could connect OK. help is appreciated, jeff
