I discovered a couple of strange messages in my log files: Feb 19 05:31:18 adria /usr/local/sbin/nntpcached[9454]: nntpcache.c:93:Illegal seek: SIGSEGV! Feb 19 05:35:09 adria /usr/local/sbin/nntpcached[11609]: nntpcache.c:93:Illegal seek: SIGSEGV! This happens one or two times per day. Here is another very frequent message: Feb 19 13:05:21 adria /usr/local/sbin/nntpcached[389]: article.c:41:Illegal seek: path contained suspect characters Feb 19 13:05:27 adria /usr/local/sbin/nntpcached[389]: article.c:41:No such file or directory: path contained suspect characters Feb 19 13:05:31 adria /usr/local/sbin/nntpcached[389]: article.c:41:No such file or directory: path contained suspect characters I can't say if this means that nntpcache is not running correctly. -- Old programmers never die.
