there's just one small error you need to fix to make it compile on openbsd
I have it running on 2.8 release right now
Change line 652 of src/Makefile from:
$(top_srcdir)/confused/confused $<
to:
$(top_srcdir)/confused/confused ../cf/nnconf.cf
this is with version 2.3.3
