I'm trying to set up a News infrastructure with one main NNTPCache server taking a feed from an external source (our ISP) and four site NNTPCache servers feeding off that. At the moment I have one NNTPCache server (version 2.4.0b5) taking a feed from our organisation's main news server. That seems to be working fine, but when I try to point another NNTPCache server at that, to prove that I can cascade servers, the second server just sits there and when I telnet to port 119 I get the message: "failing server rebuild in progress (0 groups complete, at least 3000 groups to go. Please try again later." I am assuming I have not configured something correctly. The only difference between the two systems is that the second machine (esacom71) has its nntpcache.servers file pointing to the first cache server (cs71) which, in turn, is pointing to our site news server.
