NNTPcached and tcpwrappers?

With my apologies if this is a quesion I should *FAQ* know the answer to, but I am not seeing it.  I accept any flames.

Question:

Can nntpcached be compiled with TCP_wrapper support, to augment the nntpcache.access functions?

Situation:

I have a particularly pesky user from another ISP ( yes you uu.net ) attempting to connect to our news server repeatedly.  The ISP refuses to admit this is happening.

NNTPcached refuses connect:

nntpcache-client[20901]: refused connect from unknown@1cust28.tnt4.waterloo.on.da.uu.net (64.10.148.28)
But I would like to be able to use tcp_wrappers to spawn a logger and response tool before these connections get to nntpcached.

If this is not possible, I can accept that, and we will simply add an access list to our core routers to block this ISP entry to our network.

Your thoughts are solicited and appreciated,
Bryan Guest
