RE: resolving problems running chroot

dear Michael,

I saw you message in the list archieves about a chrooted linux install of
nntpcache not being able to resolve dns names, and no answer on the list, so
I am guessing you could have been able to resolve the problem yourself.

I am having the same problem (nntpcache 2.3.3 on RH 6.2, chroot setup
similar to yours).

I made it work by adding my server in [jail]/etc/hosts, so that its name is
resolved and the service starts (configuring the servers file with IP
addresses would have done the same, I suppose), but I am not fully satisfied
(server IP could change, cannot use reverse-resolution based access
control...).

I was wondering if you found a better solution after that message.

after sucessfully testing nntpcache in a "normal" Linux environment I
wanted to test it run chrooted.

I copied the necessary libs to [jail]/libs and necessary config files to
[jail]/etc. The jail looks like this:
