dear Michael, I saw you message in the list archieves about a chrooted linux install of nntpcache not being able to resolve dns names, and no answer on the list, so I am guessing you could have been able to resolve the problem yourself. I am having the same problem (nntpcache 2.3.3 on RH 6.2, chroot setup similar to yours). I made it work by adding my server in [jail]/etc/hosts, so that its name is resolved and the service starts (configuring the servers file with IP addresses would have done the same, I suppose), but I am not fully satisfied (server IP could change, cannot use reverse-resolution based access control...). I was wondering if you found a better solution after that message. thanks for your help MAtteo original message: ----------------------------------------------------- HI! after sucessfully testing nntpcache in a "normal" Linux environment I wanted to test it run chrooted.
