Hi!
Today I configured, compiled and installed nntpcache-2.3.3 on AIX 4.3.2.
I send you this comments and hope to help you including AIX into the
list of supported operating systems.
NewsCache on AIX4.3.2
----------------------
- no gcc installed
- gnumake installed
Using:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/nntpcache-2.3.3
gnumake
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem:
"flock" needs libbsd.a to be used when linking
Solution:
using gnumake CC="cc -lbsd"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem:
"int stat" in "contrib/newshound/newshound.c" conflicts with function
"stat"
defined in "/usr/include/sys/stat.h"
Solution:
Changed every "stat" to "istat"
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem:
group "daemon" not available
Solution:
Creating group "daemon"
