I just joined the mailing list, so I may have read some previous messages incorrectly. If people have been seeing the following error when starting nntpcache, check your "nntpcache.servers" file. If there is a "/*" near the top, remove it and it should start correctly. It looks like the problem originated in the "nntpcache.servers-dist" file. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NNTPCache-2.4.0b3 Copyright (c) 1996-1999 Julian Assange <proff@iq.org> Copyright (c) 1998-1999 Australian National Cognitive Facility See the files "COPYING", "FAQ", "LICENSING" and http://www.nntpcache.org/ for copyright details cwd now /usr/local/etc/nntpcache/etc/nntpcache servers file nntpcache.servers contains no servers! uname: illegal option -- p usage: uname [-amnrsvil] [-S nodename] mail: illegal option -- s usage: mail [+] [-epqr] [-f file] mail [-dt] persons clean shutdown ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bruce +----------------------------------------------------------------+ | Bruce Hauge | | AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES EMAIL: bruce_hauge@agilent.com | | Imaging Electronics Division PHONE: (541) 715-2675 | | 1000 NE Circle Blvd., MS: 133A FAX: (541) 715-8930 | | Corvallis, OR 97330 | +----------------------------------------------------------------+
