Seems I remember seeing a patch for nntpcache to make it work properly with linux. Seems like the symptoms were that the daemon would leave memory due to a memory leak or something. This describes what is going on here. I'm running nntpcache-2.3.3b4 on RHS 5.1 (kernel 2.0.34). Is the patch still out there and still necessary? I can no longer find any references to it.
