The errno "message" here (e.g "Connection refused") doesn't
necessarily have anything to do with the reasons behind the sigsegv.
It's simply the last errno set (which is sometimes useful to know).
In both of these cases the upstream server has gone down at some
prior point. nntpcache globally "caches" the upstream sever status
(i.e in shared memory, so all the children know about it) in order
to avoid re-testing dead-servers too frequently. The news-reader
has asked for a LISTGROUP that would normally have been farmed out
to the dodo server, but since it's already been marked down nntpcache
doesn't think it's worth the bother (just yet). My guess is that
the listgroup code is somehow not dealing with the dodo server
correctly. From a cursory look I can't see anything obviously amis. Can you
provide a stack strace?

One of the children has probably hit part of shared memory it should
not have. Once this happens the whole nntpcache process crew is
likely to throw a wobbly. Possibly related to the first two cases.
Well, here's hoping :)

It's normal if you have logToServer on :)

Cheers,
