Well here I am after many days and many nights and far to much coffee - but nowhere nearer to getting nntpcache working for me. The problem I have is that nntpcache wont acknowledge my entry into the servers files. I can successfully telnet to port 119 and interact with the remote server so I know it works and that I have the correct access permissions to use it. My servers file contains the following entry; <host>.<domain>.net. DEFAULT 20m 2d 2d 15m 15d 15d %BeginGroups * <host>.<domain>.net. But when I run the nntpcached I get the following message in my syslog file; Jul 12 11.47.27 <hostname> nntpcached[4880]:nntpcache.c:419 Not a typewriter: servers file servers contains no servers! Do I need an entry in the hosts.allow file for the target news server ? Please if you have any ideas at all please help me out hear as I am at the end of my tether.
