> How many of you do *not* have a working mmap? The reason that I ask, is > if I presume a working mmap efficiences can be substantially increased, > and I don't have to code for both cases, which is tedious. All I know is I am running NetBSD 1.1 and it doesn't work. I get the following two errors everytime I start: Jul 31 08:58:56 people-eater /home/awick/src/nntpcache-0.91.2UL/nntpcached[8627]: nntpcache.c:488:Undefined error: 0: mmap() attach to cache.mmap failed (probably currupted...removing it and trying again) Jul 31 08:58:56 people-eater /home/awick/src/nntpcache-0.91.2UL/nntpcached[8627]: nntpcache.c:473:Undefined error: 0: re-creating cache.mmap It never actually runs, and I haven't taken the time to debug it. If I run it in interactive mode and do a "group comp.lang.java" I get. Aug 3 16:00:24 people-eater ./nntpcached[468]: nntpcache.c:87:Socket operation on non-socket: SIGSEGV! If you have any suggestions let me know, otherwise I might try and figure out what is going on. Thanks, Andy -- awick@vt.edu Andy Wick awick@purple.org Virginia Tech
