In brief, party A has a lotus notes server they are using for usenet distribution within their network. Party B has a caching news server (nntpcache, about 12 months old I believe, I'll get more information if it's relevant). Aparantly, the two WERE communicating about 12 months ago, although with an earlier version of lotus notes, but aparantly the same version of nntpcache. Since then, no-one knows how many things have changed, both people claim no "relevant" parts have changed, but it now doesn't work. An extract of the communication log from the notes end, shows: (I don't have any logs from the other person at this stage to see what's happening at their end... I'm just trying to help out a friend at this time) -------------------------------------- The "NEWNEWS" seems to be asking for articles after 3:40 am 7/5 GMT so why didn't I get them? 05/11/98 03:29:08 PM NNTP Server: connected to xxx.yyy 05/11/98 03:29:10 PM NNTP Server: (xxx.yyy send->) DATE 05/11/98 03:29:12 PM NNTP Server: (xxx.yyy <-recv) 500 Syntax error or bad command 05/11/98 03:29:12 PM NNTP Server: Pull feed from server 'xxx.yyy' 05/11/98 03:29:12 PM NNTP Server: (xxx.yyy send->) NEWNEWS comp.groupware.lotus-notes.admin 980507 034047 GMT 05/11/98 03:29:15 PM NNTP Server: (xxx.yyy <-recv) 230 New news follows 05/11/98 03:29:15 PM NNTP Server: Pull feed stats: 0 offered 0 requested 0 transferred 05/11/98 03:29:15 PM NNTP Server: Push feed to server 'xxx.yyy' 05/11/98 03:29:16 PM NNTP Server: (xxx.yyy send->) QUIT 05/11/98 03:29:16 PM NNTP Server: Push feed stats: 0 offered 0 requested 0 transferred (Yes, I've changed 'party B' domain name to "xxx.yyy") ------------------------------------------ Anyone got any wisdom to offer here?
