MEDIA BRIEFING: KEY DEMENTIA RESEARCH PRESENTED AT THE 2022 ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE-RELATED DEMENTIAS (ADRD) SUMMIT

WHAT:
Leaders from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will brief reporters on advances in dementia research and top scientific priorities as part of the Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias (ADRD) Summit 2022. Focusing on Alzheimer’s Disease and Alzheimer’s Disease-Related Dementias (AD/ADRD), topics will include approaches to reducing risk of developing these diseases; COVID-19 and dementia; health equity in diagnosis and treatment; and the emerging understanding that, in any individual affected by dementia, there are typically multiple contributing disease processes in the brain. NINDS and NIA are parts of the National Institutes of Health.
