NEW DATA REPORT PROVIDES LATEST SNAPSHOT OF U.S. CHILDREN’S ORAL HEALTH
What: The release of data from a nationwide survey in 2011-12 provides the most recent picture of the oral health of children and adolescents in the United States. Indicators include the prevalence of cavities in baby and adult teeth, untreated tooth decay, and the use of dental sealants. The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Division of Oral Health of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will hold a webinar briefing to discuss the findings of this report from the National Center for Health Statistics.
WHY: Despite tremendous improvements in oral health over the past 50 years, tooth decay remains one of the most common chronic childhood diseases in the U.S. Poor oral health can put a child's overall health, well-being, and achievement at risk. This new report is the most current and reliable source of information on children’s oral health in America.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 4, 2015, 2:00 to 3:00 pm ET
WHERE: Webinar (presentation and audio) will be accessible via computer, mobile device, and smart phone. Audio of webinar (telebriefing) will be accessible via standard phone line.
HOW: To RSVP and receive webinar access and call-in details, please contact NIDCR at NIDCRinfo@xxxxxxxxxxxx or 301-496-4261. An archive version of the webinar will be available approximately one hour after its conclusion.
Who should attend: Credentialed media only, please
