SYMPOSIUM ON STATE-OF-THE-SCIENCE HEALTH COMMUNICATION RESEARCH:
Advancing the Science, Extending the Research, and Improving the
Effectiveness of Health Communication  

WHAT:
Cancer communication science has enormous potential to improve health
and reduce health disparities. In 2003, the National Cancer Institute
(NCI) announced the creation of four Centers of Excellence in Cancer
Communication Research. These centers support research on how best to
disseminate and use essential information about cancer prevention,
detection, treatment, and survivorship. This symposium will illustrate
the importance and scope of the research being conducted by the
investigators.
