Kernel symbol naming rules

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi all,

When doing insmod, we find our function named "rxe_mem_alloc" is renamed as "rxe_mem_alloc.isra.2" in kernel symbol table @ /proc/kallsyms

I am curious why the kernel appends ".isra.2" to the original function. Why this happens? What is this for?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Cheers,

Wenda Ni, Ph.D.
