Kernel parameter "memmap="

Am trying to reserve memory using the kernel parameter "memmap=66M$0x3b000000" on Qemu but it happens that the kernel does not boot.

I get a panic with the error :

kernel not syncing: Out of memory and not killable processes

Is there something I am missing ?Should I use some options when building the kernel to allow this command line option ?

Cheers,
Asla
