for comparison sake, i just got task 11 now after submitting task 10
to little 12 days ago. The auto responder said there were 12 people
in line ahead of me at the time for that task. The longest I've
waited for a response was almost 4 weeks for task 08.

a good list of ideas to work on while waiting for little's response:

"Three Ways for Beginners to Contribute to the Linux Kernel "
http://www.linux.com/news/software/linux-kernel/804403-three-ways-for-beginners-to-contribute-to-the-linux-kernel

i've also started compiling and running linux-next everyday. twice
over the past few weeks it broke on my system (amd64 laptop). it was
very interesting to try to track down what the issue was. i learned
how to use "git bisect" in the process. in both cases, a patch ended
up in linux-next to resolve the issue before i could identify a fix,
but it was a very educational process.

cheers,
drew
