Pavan Savoy <pavan_savoy@xxxxxxxx> > ubuntu has THE BEST package management system .. I've seen so far. > fedora/red-hat RPM is a real pain .... Pavan, most Fedora users rarely interact with rpm, as we use the PackageKit interface to install new software including packages like gcc, gdb, cscope, qemu, kgdb, etc. that are important to (on-topic comments!) kernel developers. Also I note that Fedora is sending out 2.6.34.6-54.fc13 via yum. Which kernel is current in Ubuntu? BTW, thanks to everyone for the linked list discussion, which I found particularly informative. -- Alison Chaiken (650) 279-5600 (cell) http://www.exerciseforthereader.org/ The only real deadline in life is the one where you actually die. -- Eliot D. -- To unsubscribe from this list: send an email with "unsubscribe kernelnewbies" to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxx Please read the FAQ at http://kernelnewbies.org/FAQ
