Pavan, most Fedora users rarely interact with rpm, as we use the
PackageKit interface to install new software including packages like
gcc, gdb, cscope, qemu, kgdb, etc. that are important to (on-topic
comments!) kernel developers.   Also I note that Fedora is sending out
2.6.34.6-54.fc13 via yum.   Which kernel is current in Ubuntu?

BTW, thanks to everyone for the linked list discussion, which I found
particularly informative.
