I really appreciate your suggestion and (hopefully) understood what you are pointing to. And nice to see you started with basics.

But let me be clear about the notion of kernel mailing lists- It's like you do the stuffs on your own. There is a lot of material available opensource. Read, read and read. And then practice. And _certainly_ there are many things which everyone can't understand. Try to solve these issues on your own (and probably post it to the mailing list, unless it's an obvious thing!). If you are really stuck somewhere or want to contribute something and seeking opinion that's what the mailing list is for.
