Sounds like the log-level is not high enough to make it into the logfile then.

diff that to dmesg.

Btw, I thought fedora logged to /var/log/dmesg ?

Try to change the default loglevel via rklogd (this is a wild guess, I do not 
normally use fedora) :-)
