Re: any NX memory areas?

Excuse me maybe I've been on the moon for last few years -
is NX or data execution protecion enabled by default in "production"
kernels that come with stable distribution (i.e. last Slackware) or do I
need to compile the kernel for myself to enable it ?
Classical shellcodes executed from the stack seem to not work any longer,
even with _va_space_randomize_ switched of - or I'm just to wooden-headed
to do that / to desperate ?

Peace,
Lech
