a while back, i ran across a book(?) which had a great graphical representation of how the kernel was compiled, showing how the initially compiled source was compiled with piggy.o, how the initramfs was added to the mix, things were compressed, until you ended up with the final bootable kernel image. and now, i can't remember where i saw it. (it was a single diagram, going left to right showing how pieces got added one at a time.) anyone know what i'm talking about? rday -- ======================================================================== Robert P.
