XFS is the only production linux FS I know of that makes an effort to
treat streaming data special.

I think there are a number of design docs for xfs available, but I'm
not positive.

FYI: I don't know if btrfs or zfs have and specific streaming support,
but neither is production ready in linux yet (imo).
