just an curious question:  what are the features in ZFS which
interests you?   EXT2 has its own features, and if u combine it with
ZFS....u may end up removing the ext2 features.   So ZFS necessarily
have to be a rewrite - at the filesystem level, not as something on
top of ext2.

due to its ease of implementation in userspace, FUSE - has been used
for implementing ZFS......just like that of NTFS...amazing work done:
