Hi,
I read that the lists LRU (active and inactive) store working set of the processes that are running.
I read that also on the active list is two-thirds of the inactive list.
My source has not informed as the size of the inactive list was defined, if at compile time or runtime.
So, I wonder:
- The size of the inactive list is defined that way?
- The definition of the size of the inactive list has some dependence on architecture?
- The lists are initialized in the boot? Only pages of the image and
structures of pages of the kernel are these lists? What kinds of pages
they store?
Any reference to respect would be welcome.
