Hi,
   I have compiled the linux kernel-2.6.24 source and tried to boot up with the newly built kernel,
but I am  getting the kernel panic. The following are the logs.

============================================================================
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting from the kernel.

Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while...
No volume groups found
Unable to find volume group "VolGroup00"
Unable to access resume device (/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01)
mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root'
setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory
switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

=============================================================================
I am using VMWare workstation with 2.6.22.14 kernel + fc6. I feel that it is a problem with the Logical volume manager. Is there any problem with the kernel configuration?

Please let me know where does the problem lie and on how to solve this issue.

Thanks and Regards,
Sidhu.
