What kind of SCSI driver? I suppose you want to write a SCSI HBA (host
bus adapter) driver, as the drivers for targets like disks, cdroms,
etc. are already there or can be done from userland (like scanners).

SCSI hardware would be nice. Be prepared to bring lots of money, SCSI
hardware is usually five times as expensive as SATA hardware. You need
at least a non-supported HBA for which you're going to write a driver,
a supported HBA to test things, and a target (disk should be fine).

lspci should tell you. Otherwise open the case and look for a SCSI
connector.
