serial driver (8250.c) - line discipline code

Hello All,

I would like to have some help in debugging a problem at the receiver port of a system when two systems (serial ports) are connected thru a serial cable (RS-232). The port is serviced by 8250.c generic driver for UART-16550A. The sender is sending a stream of characters. At the receiving end, I debugged at the driver (8250.c) level and so far there is no corruption of data. Now I am focusing on the next layer i.e., line discipline level. So I would like to have some suggestions for debugging at this level. I am not very clear about the tty_read, SLIP paths. I am using kernel-2.6.9. I would appreciate any help to debug this problem. Thanks once again.

Regards,
A.Krishnan.
