Setting the MAC adress

hi,
    To set MAC address in LINUX we can use the command ifconfig (eg: ifconfig eth0 hw ether 02:03:04:85:06:07). But it has to be done in every boot up. So how we can to set the mac address permanently so that in every boot up, the MAC address will be set automatically.
