  if i cat /proc/devices, i can see the registered major numbers, as
in:

  5 /dev/tty
  5 /dev/console
  5 /dev/ptmx

but can i examine the minor numbers that go with the above? (and i
don't mean just examining the special device files.)

Ok, but isn't
$ ls -l /dev/tty , enough for this???

Whats the problem is doing a ls -l on /dev/* files?
Any sane script can do that i guess.

Thanks
