using 2 GB RAM

Hello,
I have added 1GB RAM to a linux machine so now it uses 2 GB RAM.
I see in "cat /proc/meminfo" only 1GB in MemTotal.

I have x86_64 machine running Fedora Core 6.
My question is: should I build a kernel with special configuration
when trying to use
more than 1GB of RAM ?

I tried googling for it; in many places I saw talks about setting one
of the following:

CONFIG_HIGHMEM4G
CONFIG_HIGHMEM64G
CONFIG_HIGHMEM

Moreover, I saw many places where it says that this should be in
"Processor type and features" in make menuconfig.
However, I tried "make menuconfig" (with a new kernel , 2.6.21-rc7)
and I did not saw these options.
Also trying to edit .config and look for it did not find it.

Any ideas? am I missing something ?

Regards,
Ian
