Hi All, Does __get_free_pages guarantee that the memory allocated by it is aligned to the size it is allocating? That is, if I allocate a 512KB chunk (using __get_free_pages(GFP_KERNEL, 7), will the memory address returned to me be 512KB aligned? __get_free_pages does seem to work this way based on some experiments I did, but I wanted to confirm this is indeed *always* the case. Alan Cox does seem to suggest this is true here: http://lkml.org/lkml/1999/4/23/88, but he seems to suggest this is true only up to 128K. That was a long time back, however.
