Read and use (in the kernel tree):
Documentation/SubmittingPatches
Documentation/SubmittingDrivers
Documentation/SubmitChecklist

and on the web:

& patch-format:  http://linux.yyz.us/patch-format.html

When you have patches ready, you can submit them to the
kernel-mentors mailing list.  See here for info on that list:
  http://kernelnewbies.org/KernelMentors

(That is not a kernel-learning/newbies list.  It is strictly for
patch review when patches are thought to be close to ready.)


Then the I2C people may have some requirements/advice also.
