If I write code, and the copyright is mine, and I decide to release it under GPL - will I be able to give it to closed-source companies under a different license as well ?
I'm no expert in Licensing and I hope someone more qualified can correct me too, but this is how I see the scenario : Since you have releasesd the code under GPL in the first place, it means that you must mention the GPL while distributing it to the "closed-source company". If you liscence it to the closed-source company first, they will make sure that they get a NDA from you so that you do not go around making it open source later.
If i have the copyright - it means I can release it under how many licenses I want ? without any time limit ? (I can always change my mind and re-release it under a different license ?)
I don't know if you can revoke a license once ur code is released. Again, I hope some qualified person validates my rants. Thanks, Raseel. -- To unsubscribe from this list: send an email with "unsubscribe kernelnewbies" to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxx Please read the FAQ at http://kernelnewbies.org/FAQ
