ethtool does not work with Tulip drivers

Hi,

It seems that ethtool does not work with Phobos/tulip cards and it has been so from the 2.4 kernel days.

I can see mii-tool working with the card including being able to query settings on the card but ethtool only goes as far as to get me the driver information.

Can anyone give me any info as to why is this? Or if there is a patch available for the tulip driver that an make it work with ethtool.I would still like to continue using ethtool to query all my cards instead of making a special case for the tulip ones.

Thanks. Appreciate your help.

Siddharth
