Basically, block device, initrd support for ramdisk should be enabled:
 CONFIG_BLK_DEV_RAM
 CONFIG_BLK_DEV_INITRD

SCSI support needs to be enabled for SCSI disks:
 CONFIG_SCSI
 CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SD

Your filesystem support should be enabled:
 CONFIG_EXT3_FS
 CONFIG_EXT2_FS

Double check your .config file.
