reserve physical memory as ramdisk

Hi all,

The problem is this:

I have a system with 2GB physical memory.

I want to use to the keyword mem=1024M to restrict the system to use one GB of memory and then the use other 1GB memory for RAM disk.

.

The reason is that I want to do LKCD or other kernel dump so the crash dump will be much smaller.

Is it possible?  Do I need to modify the ram driver for that?

Thanks

- Tony
