how to disable USB and SCSI support for the test kernel

hai ..
 
iam kernel newbie.Few weeks back i started learning kernel. And i also started adding and upgrading new drivers to my test kernel..
 
can any one help me regarding  disbaling of USB and scsi support to my test kernel.
 
i know without scsi support the system won't boot up. i just want to try disabling the SCSI support.
