Yep, these books might work. But, I suggest you read up on the VFS
concept first. Understanding the Linux Kernel does a good job. Then I
suggest you read the VFS code. The people here can help you. 
That's just my personal opinion though. I was dealing with the mm system
some time ago, and I found that reading the code was far more
informative than a book, especially because books tend to get dated.
