real time linux

Hi

I have been reading a lot of aticles about real time and Linux, but I am not quite sure of having obtained the correct knowledge.

I make a summary of what I think:

Two main development lines:

A) Multi OS systems:
A1) RTLinux and RTAI based on a RTHAL that makes Linux work as a low priority task of a real time OS.
A2) LXRT on RTAI that allows handling of real time in user space.
A3) RTAI/Fusion=Xenomai=RTAI over Adeos offering same as RTAI with a POSIX API?

B) Efforts to improve Linux kernel responses to real time:
B1) Preemption patch managed by Robert Love.
B2) Low latency patch managed by Andrew Morton.
B3) Voluntary preemption by Ingo Molnar.
   B4) Montavista´s patches.

Is this correct? Where should we place Timesys real time?

Thanks

Miguel Ángel
