Not really a kernel related question IMHO. Please read about in gdb 
manual. For quick info, type "help thread" inside the gdb prompt. Short 
answer is, gdb does support thread debugging, but maybe it's not 
perfect. Please use the latest version of it to get rid of any possible 
bugs.
