Hi,

I have compiled kernel version 2.6.16.14 and trying to boot from that kernel, while booting I am getting a kernel panic.

The console messages are like:-

[17179578.572000] sda : asking for cache data failed

[17179578.572000] sda : assuming drive cache : write through

[17179578.572000] sda : asking for cache data failed

[17179578.572000] sda : assuming drive cache : write through

Enforcing mode requested but no policy loaded. Halting now.

[17179579.064000] Kernel panic – not syncing : Attempted to kill init !

I have installed FC 3 on vm_ware . The hard disk type in the virtual machine is SCSI.

Any inputs will be helpful

Rohit Hooda
